Elementary Spring Musical
Our annual Elementary Spring Musical is a joyful celebration of music and storytelling featuring students from Kindergarten through 4th grade. While all K–3 students participate through singing and movement, the 4th grade class takes on a special leadership role by performing the speaking parts that help tell the story. This production is a wonderful way to experience the fun of working together to present a performance for family and friends.

6th Grade Play
Each year, our 6th grade class presents a one-act play, running approximately 50 minutes, as a special introduction to the world of drama and performance. This exciting project gives students their first full experience with theatre—both on stage and behind the scenes. Through rehearsals and performance, students gain confidence, learn teamwork, and explore the fundamentals of acting, storytelling, and stagecraft. It’s a fun, memorable milestone that helps spark creativity and a lasting appreciation for the performing arts.

Junior High and High School Drama Opportunities
The Southwest MN Christian drama department offers a variety of performance opportunities for students throughout the year. Each fall, students in grades 9–12 present a full-length play, giving them the chance to deepen their acting skills and take on more advanced roles. In the spring, students in grades 7–12 come together for a second production, which alternates between a play and a musical. These productions allow students to explore different styles of performance, build confidence, and experience the excitement of live theatre while working as part of a creative team.
