Meet our School Nurse

The district 581 school nurse is Mrs. Denise Nerem.  Mrs. Nerem has been the District Nurse since moving to the area with her husband and three daughters in 2007.  Mrs. Nerem received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Nursing & Biology from Luther College in 1994.  Mrs. Nerem began her career in Hematology/Oncology in Ames, Iowa before spending the majority of her career working in Labor/Delivery at Mayo Medical Center in Rochester, MN.  Prior to coming to Edgerton, Mrs. Nerem was the Clinical Nurse Manager of Obstetrics for Allina Hospitals & Clinics in New Ulm, MN.  Passionate about education, Mrs. Nerem has also taught clinical nursing groups for Northeast Iowa Community College, University of Minnesota, Minnesota State Mankato and Minnesota West in both obstetrics and pediatrics.  Now working as a registered public health nurse, Mrs. Nerem is solely focused on school health nursing and caring for children pre-school through high school.  Mrs. Nerem is active in several professional nursing organizations as she seeks to care for our students in the best way possible.  An active volunteer in our community, Mrs. Nerem is a member of the Edgerton Volunteer Ambulance Association and is a community CPR instructor.  Mrs. Nerem spends her days caring for all students in the district but can be reached by calling the school office at 507-442-6181 or by email: [email protected].
